FPA was founded in 2019 by a small group of Fairhaven residents who were looking at creating a local court. They donated to paint blended lines on the tennis courts at Cushman park, using bungee cords to lower the nets to the correct height.

The state built 4 courts at Fort Phoenix State Reservation in 2021. FPA then spearheaded a proposal for additional courts at Livesey Park, funding a significant portion of the project. 4 dedicated courts were opened at Livesey Park in 2024.

Since it’s inception, FPA has grown tremendously and now has over 350 members.
